McKenzie, Marlene Patricia (née Rooney) October 3rd 1935 - April 1, 2017 Passed away at Northumberland Hills Hospital, Cobourg. Leaves behind loving husband Duncan (Don), son Marc William, daughter-in-law Kerri, granddaughter Kate, and grandson Luke. Sister Thelma and her husband Marv (Purdy) and sister-in-law Jess and her husband Ken (Martin). Marlene worked for the F. W. Woolworth's Company at Queen St. And Yonge St. as a window dresser through the 50's and 60's. Marlene's favourite time of year was Christmas and she chose this poem to let us know how she feels. "I see the countless Christmas trees around the world below, with tiny lights like Heaven's stars reflecting on the snow. The sight is so spectacular, please wipe away the tears. For I am spending Christmas up here this time of year. I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear, but the sounds of music can't compare with the Christmas choir up Here. I have no words to tell you the joy their voices bring, for its beyond description to hear the angels sing. I know how much you miss me; I see the pain within your hearts, but I am not so far away, we really aren't apart! So be happy for me dear ones, you know I hold you dear. And be glad that I am spending Christmas with our friends we miss so dear. I send you each a special gift, from my Heavenly Home above, I send to you each a memory of my undying love. After all, love is a gift more precious than pure gold. It was always more important than the stories we were told. Please love and keep each other, and as I had learned to do, for I can't count the blessings or love, I have for you. So have a Merry Christmas and wipe away the tears. Remember I am spending Christmas with the loved ones we are held so dear"
