I remember growing up on Strachan St in Port Hope and just up the green laneway lived the Nesbitt family, I think they moved to Sullivan St from Port Grandby, just about 10 kms west on the Lakeshore Rd.
I can remember riding our bikes out so that Jerrycould point out his old house and fishing with him at the many streams we passed along the way.
My condolences to Ron and Barbara and the rest of the family.

So sorry to hear of the passing of my Uncle Gerry. He often visited his sister (my mother) Dorothy in Kingston; and was often at Sullivan St, Port Hope when I visited as a young girl. He always attended the family picnics organized by Granny Nesbitt. He was generous and spiritual , often passing along little gifts, books and remembrances over the years. Jerry will be missed by many including myself and my brother, Jerry was the best neighbour anyone could ask for. I will miss the 2 of us sitting on the porch arguing about politics and other subjects, He was such a character and would go out every single day no matter how bad the weather was. I will miss making him Christmas and Thanksgiving dinners and him always buying me so many cat related items such as books and coffee mugs. He love my Trixie and Whitney and would wave at them as they were sitting at the window looking for birds. Although the last 2 years were pretty rough for Jer he rarely complained. It was sad to see his health decline and the inability to eat but we still joked around about stuff, RIP My friend Have a couple steaks in heaven for me,
Bob and Cathy Smith
