On Wednesday July 23, 2025 Phyllis Rutter-Wallans fell asleep in death in her 92nd year.

She was born in Strathclair, Manitoba to parents Katherine Chayka and Fred Mymko. Phyllis was the second of five children-Elizabeth (Betty), Phyllis, Rose, Ernie and Muriel. She is predeceased by her sister Rose and is survived by her sisters Betty and Muriel and her brother Ernie, as well as many nieces and nephews. 

Phyllis was married first to Ross Rutter (deceased 1997), and then to Victor Wallans (deceased 2014).  

She was a devout member of the Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in Cobourg, Ontario. Although she is now sleeping in death, she was convinced of Jehovah God's promise to resurrect her to a paradise earth (John 5:28,29) where "death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore" (Revelation 21:4). 

A memorial service will be held on Sunday August 24th at 2:30pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 7658 Telephone Road, Cobourg, Ontario.
