We are saddened to share the news of the sudden passing of our beloved Sean.
Sean was a devoted son to John MacKay and Peggy O’Neill, loving brother to Ian (Amanda) and Elizabeth (Mark). Proud father of Connor and Jacob and a caring guardian to Bella. He was a loving Uncle to Ethan, Hunter and Grace.
He also loved his partner Rocio immensely.
Sean was a dear friend and mentor to his “brothers” in recovery. Sean was very proud of his job. He started a new chapter in Toronto as a Team Lead at the Neighbourhood Group working in shelters across the city. In his short time with TNG, Sean made a profound impact providing life saving services and peer support to some of the city’s most vulnerable. His work literally saved lives. To many, Sean was a source of strength, wisdom and compassion.
Sean was a fierce protector of all of the ones he loved.
His loss has left a deep hole in the hearts of everyone who knew him.
A visitation for Sean will take place from 2-4pm, Saturday, September 20th, at Rushnell Funeral Home (103 Mill Street North, Port Hope). A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date, to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to a Go Fund Me set up for Sean and his family. Alternatively, a donation to The Vitanova Foundation or Alpha House in his memory is also appreciated.
