It is with profound sadness and sorrow that we announce the death of our vibrant, strong, and beautiful Mother Lee Burns nee Linden, who left us on Friday September 25th, 2025 peacefully surrounded by her family, after a courageous year long battle with congestive heart failure. She led a life full of love, laughter, and resilience, so so much resilience. She touched the lives of all who knew her.
A limb has fallen from the family tree. Remember the good times, the laughter, the song, the good life I lived when I was strong.
To commemorate her incredible journey and to celebrate the love she spread, a celebration of life will be held in her honour on October 19th, 2025 – which would have been her 70th birthday – from 2-5pm at 1800 Rudell Road, Newcastle. We invite all who knew her to join us in remembering the legacy of kindness and strength this remarkable woman left behind.
Donations can be made to your local food bank or to any individual or family you personally know are struggling in her honour. Her golden rule was to do at least one good deed every day.
Our hearts are shattered but we take comfort that she is finally reunited with her soulmate and love of her life, our father, Raymond Burns who tragically left us all far too soon, as well as all of those we have loved who have gone before us. It’s not goodbye, it’s see you later. Xoxo
“If I made a list of the people I admire, Mom would probably fill up half of it. She could do anything and everything.” – Patsy Cline
