Jack Alexander Shallhorn Obituary

SHALLHORN, Jack Alexander

Peacefully on Saturday November 15, 2025 at Northumberland Hills Hospital at the age of 78.

Loving husband of Joanne.  Beloved Brother-in-law of Doug (Barb) Dyson and Bob (Hazel) Dyson.

Will also be missed by his good friends Stewart and Randy.

Jack was born in Toronto where he lived most of his adult life in “The Beach” area.  He worked there, as a much loved, High School Teacher for many years.

In 1993 he married the love of his life Joanne Phimister.  They eventually moved to the little town of Port Hope, east of Toronto.

Now retired from teaching Jack enjoyed wood working in his garage making some fine items for themselves and others.  He also had quite an active social life and loved to meet up with friends at the local pub to enjoy a pint and many good conversations and laughs.

He was friendly, kind and gentle to everyone he met but his greatest passion was loving and caring for his beautiful wife Joanne, his life partner.

Jack will be sorely missed by Joanne and all his many friends.  In the last few months his social life was curbed greatly by immobility and pain which was heartbreaking for himself and those who loved him.

However, thru it all he always had a smile on his face and a kind word.  That was our Jack!  A real Trouper.  Rest Easy now Jack  xox
