Larry George Martyn

Larry passed away very peacefully at Ed’s House on December 6, 2025, with his family.
Larry was a dedicated husband to Carol Ann, his loving wife of 45 years, and a devoted father to Tyler and Carly. He was a proud Grandpa to his granddaughters, Clara and Anna. The son of the late George and Olive Martyn and son-in-law to the late Plinks and Lorraine Clarke. Brother of Lynn Pettipas (Paul) from Halifax and brother-in-law of Paul and Chrystal Clarke, Trish Clarke and Ron and Elaine and Terry Highfield. Uncle Larry to Nicole and Jarrod Pettipas, Nathan and Adam Clarke, Amanda Turner and Abby and Emma Highfield.
In his free time, Larry enjoyed tending to their property, planting their vegetable garden and listening to rock n’ roll music on the back deck. He found solace and joy in the simple moments spent with his family and friends. He has touched the lives of many and will be remembered fondly for his kindness, compassion and gentle spirit.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, December 12, 2025 from 3-6pm at Rushnell Funeral Home, 103 Mill Street North, Port Hope. On Saturday, December 13, 2025, at New Hope United Church, 4651 County Rd 2 in Welcome, a Service will be held at 11am, with a visitation prior to the Service at 10am. A Celebration for Larry will be held at the Port Hope Legion Branch 30, 29 Thomas St, Port Hope afterwards.
If you wish, a memorial donation in Larry's honour can be made to Ed’s House, New Hope United Church, Welcome or to the Port Hope Legion Branch 30.
Larry’s love and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
