Richard Aubrey "Rick" Dickerson Obituary

Rick Dickerson passed away peacefully at Peterborough Hospital on January 7, 2026, at the age of 70. A lifelong resident of Port Hope, he was deeply rooted in his community and the life he built there.

Rick was married to the love of his life, Julie, for 46 years. Together they raised two children, Kerri (David) and Dic (Cynthia), and were proud grandparents to Nicolas and Dominic, Kerri and David’s sons.

He was predeceased by his parents, David and Bessie, and his younger brother Rodney. Rick is lovingly remembered by his wife Julie, his children and grandchildren, and his sisters Cindy (Randy), Tina (Scott), and Kim.

Rick was a retired electrician who took great pride in his work. In retirement, he continued to stay busy working as a health care screener at the nursing home where his wife Julie worked; a role that suited his friendly nature and love for striking up a conversation with virtually anyone.

He loved a good deal and loved telling everyone about it even more. He had a fondness for gadgets and a deep appreciation for music, movies, and time spent with family. Whether it was baseball, Sea Cadets, or pipe band, Rick always found a way to be part of his kids’ lives and interests, and his entire family will miss him tremendously.

At this time, Rick is being honoured privately by his family. A larger celebration of life will be planned when warmer weather arrives, fitting for someone who also loved being outdoors as much as he did.
