Margit (Margaret) Onodi, 94, of Port Hope, Ontario, passed away peacefully on February 16th, 2026 at Northumberland Hills Hospital, in Cobourg, Ontario.

Margaret was born in Hungary on March 8th, 1931 and immigrated to Canada in 1957, where she settled with her family in a small farming community in Delhi, Ontario. She eventually settled in Toronto with her four children and worked as a housekeeper.
Margaret was deeply involved with the Hungarian Church in Toronto and spent most of her weekends cooking for their church functions, and also for summer youth camps at the cottage in Haliburton. Margaret loved to garden and her balcony was always full of geraniums.
Margaret always cherished her time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
During her most recent years living at the Regency Retirement Home in Port Hope, Margaret loved to get involved in baking, exercise, crafts, and especially enjoyed the petting zoo. She also loved her strolls along the waterfront in Cobourg.
We will all miss her beautiful smile.
We wish to thank everyone who cared for mom at Regency Retirement Home in Port Hope and Northumberland Hills Hospital.
There will not be a funeral service. In accordance with her wishes, Margaret will be cremated and in the springtime will be placed to rest at Prospect Cemetery in Toronto.
