Don passed away peacefully at Ed's House, Northumberland Hospice Care Centre on Thursday, July 16, 2026, in his 94th year. A lifelong resident of Port Hope, he leaves behind family and friends who loved him dearly and will cherish the memories they shared.

Predeceased by his parents, Lorne and Sicily Plummer. Beloved husband of the late Mildred Plummer (nee MacGilchrist) for almost 59 years. Loving father of Scott (Vivian), Chris (Erin), Greg (Julie) and Marie (Roy). Cherished grandfather of Marc (Laramie), Matthew, Taylor, Meaghan (Andrew), Adam (Alex), Nicholas, Emily, Devin (Sydney) and Caitlin (Brent). Proud great-grandfather of Celeste, Alyse, Nolin, Elizabeth, Charlotte and Beckett. Brother of the late Gordon (late Ann).

Don pursued a career as a pharmacist and took over the family business at Plummer's I.D.A. Drug Store. Following retirement, he and Mildred pursued their love of travel and casinos.

Don was a devoted 50+ year member of the Port Hope Masonic Temple/Shriners. He was an avid sports fan of many teams and enjoyed bowling, golfing and fishing to name but a few of the sports he liked to do. Family and friends meant everything to him and he cherished the time together.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday July 25, 2026 at Rushnell Funeral Home, 103 Mill Street North Port Hope from 11-12pm.  Celebration of Life to follow at 12pm.
