It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Zachary Robert Moffat on July 30, 2026.

Zach was the loved and cherished son of Elizabeth (Liz) Moffat and the late Robert Moffat. He leaves behind a family who loved him beyond measure and whose lives will never be the same without him. He will be forever missed by his brothers, Jacob (Dani) and Dylan (Rachel). The space he left behind can never be filled—his spirit, infectious laughter, and unmistakable presence will forever be missed in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

He was a treasured grandson of Marion and Gerald (Pork) Brown and the late Gwyneth and Stanley Moffat and he will be dearly missed by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and the entire Moffat, Brown, and Bracci families. Zach also leaves behind countless dear friends whose lives were brighter because he was apart of them. Above all else, Zach adored his beloved cat, Marcy and dog, Archie - The Archduke of Mayhem.

Zach had a wickedly sharp wit and a mischievous sense of humor. His smirk could make anyone laugh—even when you knew he had just outsmarted you. He was fiercely competitive and loved every opportunity to challenge his family and friends to any game. No one was spared and he celebrated every victory with that unforgettable grin.

Zach's happiest moments were spent at the lake surrounded by family and friends. He was an avid reader who could lose himself in fantasy novels. He loved Halloween, embracing its magic so completely that decorations could be found all year long—a reflection of his fun-loving personality and appreciation for life's little joys.

Although Zach's time with us was far too short, the love he gave, the laughter he shared, and the memories he created will remain with us forever. His family will continue to find comfort in the countless stories, jokes, adventures, and moments of joy that made Zach so unforgettable.

Our hearts are broken, but we are grateful for every moment we were blessed to have with him. He will be loved unconditionally, remembered always, and missed beyond words.

We will love you forever, Zachary. Until we meet again.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 9th , 2026 from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Masonic Lodge, 54 Toronto Road, Port Hope, ON.
