It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Terry James Moore, who passed away peacefully on July 28, 2026, at Ed's House Hospice in Cobourg, Ontario, at the age of 82.

Terry leaves behind his beloved wife of 25 years, Marilyn Moore of Port Hope. He was predeceased by his first wife, Lynda. He was the devoted father of Sean Moore of Toronto and Kevin Moore of Edmonton, Alberta, and a proud and cherished grandfather to Georgia and Everett.

He is lovingly remembered by his siblings, Wendy, Pat, and Greg, all of Alberta. Terry will also be deeply missed by Marilyn's children, John (Vanessa) Rahme and Shelly Rahme of the Northwest Territories, as well as their children, Isabel, Parker, and Lily, all of Toronto. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law Karen, widow of his late son Jay, and grandchildren Megan of British Columbia and Tim of Oshawa.

Terry enjoyed a distinguished career, serving as Vice President of ATCO Power in Edmonton, Alberta, for 17 years. Following his retirement and marriage to Marilyn, they settled in Sechelt, British Columbia before embarking on many adventures together. They shared a passion for travel, with their favourite destination being the picturesque village of Caunes-Minervois in the south of France, where they spent three wonderful months each year over four different years. Their journey together later took them to a farm near Wolfville, Nova Scotia, before they made Port Hope their home for the past 20 years. They also treasured their winter getaways to Cocoa Beach, Florida.

A lifelong athlete, Terry was an avid golfer, accomplished runner, and talented hockey player. During his younger years, he travelled by bus throughout Western Canada playing competitive hockey with an Edmonton team. His skill on the ice earned him an invitation to a tryout with the Chicago Blackhawks of the NHL, an opportunity he always appreciated.

Terry was also a lifelong learner. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Alberta before completing his Master's degree at Ryerson University in Toronto. Exceptionally intelligent, he was invited to join Mensa, but characteristically declined, saying with a smile, "I just want to be an average guy." Those who knew Terry understood that he was anything but average. His wisdom, gentle sense of humour, and steady presence will be remembered always by everyone fortunate enough to know him.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Centennial Place and Ed's House Hospice for the exceptional care and kindness they provided to Terry and his family during his final days.
