Ruth acted as Treasurer and then President of the Catholic Women's League. Ruth had a great love of acting and in 1988 established Klewes, a little theatre group, for whom she wrote, produced and acted in murder-mystery comedy dinner theatre plays performed from Cobourg to Toronto. The group was active until 2002, when Ruth moved out of the area. Born in Toronto, Ruth moved to Port Hope in 1967 before moving to Arkona in 2002. After living for 3 years in Ottawa, Ruth returned to Port Hope in 2015, where she wrote 2 books "The Queen's Spy" and "The 13th Guest". Ruth's final 15 days were spent at Ed's House, where she had phenomenal care by the wonderful staff there. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Ed's House Northumberland Hospice Care Centre, so future families can be fortunate enough to have their loved ones cared for there. At Ruth's request, there will be no funeral service or celebration of life. There will be a private family gathering at a later date, to fulfill her wishes. Ruth loved her family and always said she had a wonderful life. She will be missed. In her words "I hope so, at least for a while :)"
