Shields, Gary Keith (Shifty) On the sunny Sunday morning of April 2nd 2017, Shifty decided that almost 70 years at this party called life was enough and headed on for a well-deserved rest. Gary Keith Shields, son of the late Norman and Hazel Shields, (and his Mother’s favourite) peacefully passed surrounded by the love of his family. Gary’s presence will be sorely missed by his lifelong best friend, confidant and sister, Linda, his close friend and brother-in-law Alan Parker, and his brother Wayne (Lucie). He is the cherished Uncle of Kim (Sam Botrie), April (Jason Diminie), Heather (Ian Smith) and Isabelle Champagne-Shields and left a lasting mark on the lives of his great nieces and nephews Cole, Jacob, Ethan, Tanner, Abbey, Kale and Emma. Shifty lived his life with a sense of humour, and despite being a hard worker, had a very healthy social life. He had many wonderful friends that were important to him, was never at a loss for women’s affection, and was sometimes inappropriate. Please join Shifty’s family to celebrate his life at the Best Western Plus Cobourg Inn and Convention Centre, 930 Burnham Street Cobourg, Ontario on Sunday, April 9th at 1 p.m. followed by a reception 2-4 pm.
