These are some great remembrances on here for Pat! Thank you all for posting!
I will be sure to show these to grandmother/mom/Aunt Fern tomorrow, I know she’ll love them as I do.
There’s going to be a gathering of friends and family after the service to celebrate Pat and share more stories. Pat is buying! It’s at the Knights of Columbus Hall in downtown Port Hope. For google maps types it’s at 1 Elias St. Directions. From the cemetery, go south on Toronto St (Hwy #2) to downtown. Toronto St turns into Walton St. When you’re downtown look for Queen St. (If you cross the Ganaraska River you passed it). Make a right on Queen (a left if you are back-tracking!) then a quick right on Elias.
Big thanks to Uncle Pete for organizing all the Port Hope logistics!
All the best, Greg

On behalf of my father Wilson, he is sad to have lost his buddy and good friend. No longer will Pat make it across the road with a couple of beers to shoot the breeze. He will be missed.
Growing up across the road from Mr.Hills, I have many memories; his outrageously loud whistling would wake you up, his always joyful "Hello Terry", and infectious laugh made him a one of a kind. He gave me one of my first jobs as a lot boy at Brian Cullen Chev-Olds. He was a true car guy. He loved to garden, and it showed. His yard was always immaculate.
Mostly I'm sad for my Dad as Mr.Hills was great company and good fun, they shared a lot of laughs together. The catholic and the protestant.
He will be missed by those who knew him on Royal Oak.
Condolences to Mrs. Hills, Tammy and Greg and families.

We are so deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our dear next door neighbour Pat. Some of our fondest memories over the past 37 years was him whistling a tune while he enjoyed working in his yard and garden.
He would always pop his head over the fence and brighten our day with a joke or two! His laughter and smiling face will be truly missed.
Fern, Tammy, Greg and Family please accept our deepest condolences at this very difficult time. Lots of love, Jane and David

Many years ago when Pat was visiting his son Greg we decided to go for a ride in my Porsche. With the top down on a nice summer day we slowly made are way to the highway when Greg said “ok hit it”. With the engine roaring and wind blasting with acceleration I looked back and Pat seemed frozen, hanging on. Later we had a good laugh about it. Funny though, when I saw Pat on occasion and asked if he wanted to go for another ride he would always laugh and say once was enough. I am glad I had a memory to share about Pat and my condolences to all his family.

I was saddened to hear of Pat's passing. I was a member of his golf group at Pen Lakes Golf club in Pelham (Niagara). He was the life of our golf group and so very proud to hear him speak about the activities of his grandchildren. To Fern, please accept my deepest condolences as you go through these trying times.
personal regards
