I have very fond memories of Barbra working so hard and with such joy at helping us to establish the Jazz Festival. She volunteered to organized the many hundreds of other volunteers necessary to put on the festival. Meetings at her home were efficent but always fun.
Thereafter it was especially wonderful seeing her every year at the festival - a community event that so many enjoyed which wouldn't have happened without her.
My sincerest condolences to her family and friends.

Laura, Scott and families, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Barb.
I met Barb through teaching when she was at CIS and I was at Port Hope High School. She was always upbeat, energetic and smiling.
As the years went by and Barb's health was challenged, I would still see her out and about attending many functions. I was always greeted by her glorious smile!
She never stopped doing and trying things. Her determination, talents and vitality seemed boundless. What an inspirational woman.

I loved my time with Barb and Bill. She was a strong and amazing woman. She made her life matter. Not too much held her back. And she was always trying to improve the lives of others.
One of my favourite memories was dressing Barb up for a 40's party with her sorority group. She looked so beautiful. Working with her on the Accessability Committee, she loved showing the children at our school presentations, that being in a chair doesn't hold you back. They loved watching what she could do.
I will always cherish my memories of my time with Barb, and her wonderful dad. Her biggest wish she shared with me, was wishing she could hug and hold her kids and grandchildren. She loved you all dearly.❤⚘

Laura and Scott,
We have returned from travelling and are tardy in sending our condolences. You do not know us but I met your Mom through sorority many years ago when she had just started her journey with MS. Barb was so very friendly with her jolly laugh and conversations. I enjoyed her company at the meetings very much. Over the years as her illness progressed she became more debilitated but at no time did that stop her. She was determined not to let it get the best of her and it didn't. Many would have given up, but not Barb. She used it as a challenge and accomplished so much because of it. Our thoughts are with you over the next while as your adjustment to life without her will be great. She was a classy genuine lady.

My mother Margaret Grant died in October of 2004. My sister, Arlene Brown, was having difficulty with her wheel chair on the day of mom's funeral (Arlene was losing air in one of the tires) and thank goodness for Barb who offered her van to take Arlene to the funeral. Just a kindness that we will never forget. Arlene has MS as well.

It is with sadness this morning that we have heard of Barb's passing.
We have had the privilege to get to know Mrs. Winfield through her dedication to mouth painting. She continued to express her positive outlook at life through her art in spite of her degenerative condition.
Her exemplary attitude, teaching and leadership abilities will be greatly missed by the staff and fellow mouth and foot painters of the Association of Mouth and Foot Painting Artists.
With deepest sympathy to all who are affected.

Rob, Peggy, Carol....
I didn't know Barb. However, from bits I've heard over the years, and reading her obituary, she clearly was an amazing woman.
I know she came from a very special family, where active participation and caring for individual people, and the community as a whole, was how one is in life. You all have demonstrated that. Kudos to your Parents, your coaches.
I was sorry to hear that Barb will no longer be able to provide the direct impact and inspiration to others that she was. However, I'm sure, with all she did through her years of commitment, she has left a huge legacy for others.

I am saddened by the loss of an amazing person that I have been proud to call my friend. Barb was my teacher and mentor many years ago as the first class of CIS She guided me , and was a true friend not just a teacher to me when I needed it most. I came from Boston to attend her retirement party and couldn't believe she still remembered me from all those years ago.
I would run into her over the years and she always had a kind word and we always had a good laugh over something.
I wish her a peaceful journey , she will be missed by so many including myself.

I was so saddened to hear of the passing of Barb, and indeed she was a bright light in the community and in our lives. She was always up for a lunch or get together and happy and smiling. Barb made an effort to get out and enjoy life as much as possible. I admired her courage and strength.
I had the pleasure of meeting Barb several years ago when my late husband, Eric Wright painted with the Friday Morning Art Group, they all shared such a wonderful bond and supported one another with personal things as well as with their artwork.
My heart goes out to the family and friends at this difficult time, may good memories and her love of life, keep her with you always.
Sincerely,
