Heard from an old school friend that Mr. Sinnott, my music teacher had passed away suddenly last week. I don’t remember at all what Mr. Sinnott taught me in class, but remembered how he would always have time for us, listened to our hearts, gave us room (literally lending us a room and equipment to play and record our music) to figure out who we were (not just musically), encourage us to think big by doing something like taking us to the United Nations and Lincoln Center to perform. His encouragements helped me to believe I can do anything I stout to do, especially pursuing a career related to music and the arts. I think he’s played a large role in the career path I am on. I Remember him walking joyfully down the hallways of Boulden House, often humming a tune and chewing on something, then he would walk into his office, open his mini fridge, grab a can of coke, and then say something fun and witty to us, he was so fun loving and approachable. His love of music, life, wife and family gave me an expression of the things I also want to live for in my life. Thank you Mr. Sinnott for the impression and influence you have left on my life.

Monique, Madeleine, Sebastian and Juliette , we just heard of your family’s loss and are heartbroken for you. We met Michael through our youngest daughters Juliette and Bella having play dates and school gatherings together. The memory of Michael that all will hold dear , whether you met him once around his family or in brief passings walking by them is the pride and joy he had for them all. Michael would look at his wife Monique and their beautiful children like he was the luckiest man walking this earth and that God had blessed him with all one could be blessed with. A kindred soul who had a great appreciation for his life, his amazing children and beautiful wife. Please remember during this difficult time that love is eternal and you will see him again to continue this beautiful journey. Sending love and light to your family during this difficult time knowing it’s not “goodbye “ but “see you later” and he will watch over you until you reunite again.

Such an incredible musician indeed. Singing with Michael and Madeline at Our Lady of Mercy in town was such a joy. Knowing that Michael’s love of the arts has been internalized by his children, makes me very happy. Strength to you Monique and your beautiful children.

Michael visited us in Sarasota FL every year for the past 13 years or so. We always looked forward to spending time with him. He would rent a piano and play all week in between beach walks, sunsets, boating and grouper sandwiches { he had one everyday }. January 2020 will not be the same without him. We will miss him dearly. XO Pat and Maureen

Monique...and your dear children,
I am deeply sorry for the loss of your love Micheal and the gentle soul of our "Family of Friends". He truly was a wonderful musician but my experience with him over the years has been he was music. The notes along the lines were born deep in his heart in such volume that it came overflowing out of him to be shared with the world....all worlds...all people. He always shared this gift, openly and with that beautiful smile on his face.
I can still hear the little giggle that generated his laugh out loud for all to follow along with...he generated "Happy" wherever he went, most certainly in my heart and soul anytime I was with him. That is only one of the many reasons I asked him to stand for me and with me at my wedding on March 2, 1985. It was an honor to have him there with me as he always did.
The last time I saw him was at the Mrs. Nakata' reunion of friends. He came walking up to me and our hearts touched during a deep hug with huge smiles on our faces...a moment I will cherish in my soul. I shall love him forever, and he made an impact on my life that will rest in my heart for the rest of my life.
My heart is broken that we have lost our gentle brother and my prayers are with you and your family during these difficult days.
May you all be comforted by knowing how much we love you and will support you from near and afar with anything you need in the years ahead.

Oh Michael, you where there for me and you did not know is. Your music you played lefted up my soul. So bright and up-lifting for the heart too. I looked up to you and wished I could play like you. You have brought a light into my life. And this light will never be forgotten, outside in the wind and rain. My prayers are with the family. My thoughts for you are in my heart right now. . . .

I will miss our conversations every 2 - 3days. Also your offers to help us out if we needed your help. At the age of 16 Michael told Mum that "music is my life." And he held firm to that goal.
We went through good and bed times together, but we did it together!
Rest quietly and peacefully.
