Dear Mr Retallick
Never could bring myself to call you Bruce although you had not been my teacher since 1969. I always enjoyed your classes and actually the strict way you ran your classroom. You helped us learn in spite of ourselves.
It was nice to run into you randomly over the subsequent decades; remember once at the train station, once in Home Hardware. After that meeting you invited me to your home to talk about my recent trip to Burma. I was flattered and enjoyed sharing our experiences in that beautiful country.

Very surprised & saddened to hear of your passing. You first conveyed to me the love of history and informed conversation followed by years of friendship and provocative conversations and too many laughs for fading memory to recall. Rest my old friend.

Ferdi and Bruce's extended family,
We are so sorry to hear of Bruce's passing, but being aware of his struggle with illness these last months, we are happy to know he is now at peace. We always enjoyed Bruce's company and conversation and will treasure the many memories we have of the times we shared over the last 20+ years. God bless.

Bruce. I'm sorry to hear of your passing. Your passion for politics and Canadian history taught me a lot in my younger years. Chance meetings at Welcome in recent years endeared you and Ferdinand to Debra and myself. God rest your soul, my friend. Ted.qHp6
