Don Workman saved my life. I developed cancer in 1983 and I am his foster son Jason. I came to live with Don in grade 8 and he used yo teach at Appleby College in Oakville. He took me in like his own and I lost my leg to cancer, the same disease as Terry Fox. Don drove me in every single day to Toronto for treatment and I was extremely ill and out of it. He taught me Tons. If I could've choose my father, it would have been him.I am crushed to see this posting

Don and I were in the same class in High School for many years and in the late 80's we reconnected and shared some happy memories.I remember his brilliant sense of humour in almost any situation and his kindness to everyone. .His devotion to his mother in her last years was admirable.
I am sorry this is a late message but I only now have learned of the loss of a cherished friend.

Don and I shared a love for tennis and I am glad we had a couple of years to get to the Rogers Cup together and also saw some memorable matches on television. I shall miss him and join in extending deepest sympathy to his loving family. Rafa Nadal, world #1 tennis player, has lost one of his greatest fans.
