Larocque, Denise Josephine
Passed away peacefully on March 26, 2020, after a brave and long battle with dementia. Born in 1944, in Montreal, Quebec, she was the daughter of the late Elizabeth and Denis D'Arcy and the youngest of six daughters. Denise Josephine (D'Arcy) Larocque was the beloved wife of the late John Larocque, her sweetheart of 35 years. She was active in her community, a loyal friend, neighbor and special nana to many in her neighbourhood. Denise faithfully volunteered with Big Brothers Big Sisters and the MS Society. Her love of cooking, dancing, music, especially Elvis, and love of people, brought many together. She enjoyed her double doubles, cheering grandkids on at soccer games, Phase 10, Scratch Tickets and her bear hugs were legendary. Denise will be sadly missed by her children Johanne (Ernie Sharp) of Grafton, Sandra (Tim Burke) of London, Johnny Larocque (Nicole Cooper) of Toronto, Diane Docherty-Roy of Cobourg; 7 precious grandchildren, Dylan, Michelle (Lucas), Brayden, Lilia, Sabrina, Maxina and Alex. Will also be missed by her sister Patricia Gauthier and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by the love of her life, John (2000) and her sisters Ella Colligan, Betty Robertson, Kathleen Price and Joanie Smith. The family wishes to extend thanks to those who provided wonderful care for mom over the years at Port Hope Extendicare. A celebration of her life will follow at a later date.
