I knew the Palumbo family through Our Lady of the Assumption Church, going back about 40-50 years. Our two Dads always had their conversations after the basement Masses; I always got the impression that they really liked each other. Many years later, Mr. Palumbo called the house one day & it happened to be a short while after Dad had passed away. We had a great catch-up. I miss the old days, when we all felt like we were members of a little community. I hope that the family is well and pray for better times.

I met Tony in 1995 and married his daughter Kathryn in 2002. I spent time with him at his farm, he stayed with us in Vancouver, and he was part of our small wedding ceremony on the beach at Tofino. We didn’t have a lot in common, however we really bonded over those attributes which I consider to be the cornerstones of a good life – hard work, providing for our families, helping others, philanthropy, keeping your word, and of course – the love of eating. Tony was a man of integrity, and he easily befriended everyone he met. While he may have been ready to move on, he’ll be missed by his extensive group of family and friends. ~ Joseph Barak

So sorry to hear of Tony's passing. He and Marilyn lived next door in Port Hope for a number of years, and we couldn't have asked for nicer neighbours. We were sad to see them go. One day, Tony and I got chatting, and that was when I discovered that, in the 1950's, he had lived just north of us at Yonge and Davisville, where his family had a grocery store, and where we had our very first apartment in Canada!
