I was surprised and saddened to learn of Murray’s passing. I had seen him grocery shopping a couple months ago and told him to keep doing whatever he was doing as he looked great.
My father always thought well of Murray and respected him as a very resourceful farmer and a good neighbour. I quite enjoyed his humour, wit, and a great source for local history.
Our condolences to the family.

I’m so glad that I was able to visit with pop in September.
He told us some funny stories without holding back on his personal opinion of certain things. You will be missed so much grandpa.
You will be remembered through tears and laughter.

Many of my fondest childhood memories include getting together with the extended family, cousins, great aunts and uncles, sharing in a meal, hugs and laughter. I remember crossing the road with grandma, many a time to visit Uncle Murray's farm to see the animals. Sending love and hugs to the whole family. I am so sorry for your loss. Rest in peace Uncle Murray.
Love,
Kathleen Garcia

My family shared the fenceline with Murray and Jean, so it's not surprising that some of my earliest memories are of our neighbours -- the rooster crowing in the early hours, deliberations over fencing repairs and the natural back-and-forth during the growing season. But most of all, I admired Murray's devotion to his wife in her latter years and his commitment to Rural Faith United Church and community. Rest in peace.

Ill always remember growing up and visiting Murray with my Dad, (Peter Brown). My siblings and i loved watching the animals while Murray and Dad packed up for the deer hunt, knowing one day id go with them. Well, ive been hunting now for 9 years, and knowing that he wont be there to butter toast, kick our ass at lost heir, or laugh at my Dads jokes is really differant to think about. Murray always said my Dad had a horse shoe up his ass, and the picture will explain that. One frosty morning, he decided to stay in because of the morning chill, and Dad shot this beauty right from Murrays stand, and nobody wanted to tell him what happend when we got to camp. Knowing that he couldve had this monster buck himself. And when we told him, he came out, chuckled and said “Peter, you lucky son of a *****”. All i know for sure, is Hunt camp wont be the same without him. As I got older and more into hunting, He let my Dad and I bird hunt behind the barn, and it made me grow as a hunter and ill always appreciate that. once and a while id travel upto his place and have a chat, he was always so humble and kind.
We’re Sorry for your loss, he’ll be very missed by all.
