Obituary of Daniel Hublau
Hublau, Daniel
Age 85, passed away peacefully at Northumberland Hills Hospital, Cobourg on Friday January 15, 2021. Dan was known for many things: his kind spirit, positive attitude, love of nature and whistling skills but most especially for the smile that rarely left his face.
Dan immigrated to Canada from France in 1953. He lived in Montreal and then Toronto where he met his beloved wife, the late Francisca (nee Paz), before settling down in Ottawa to raise a family. Dan was a proud Civil Servant who served for over 30 years as a CPA. Dan and Fran moved to Port Hope in 2008.
Dan was adored by his two daughters Catherine (Mark Rich) and Jocelyn (Suny Parker) with whom he shared his passion for the arts. Cherished grandfather of Zak and Zoe. Predeceased by his mother Georgette (nee Schreiber) and father Louis. Dear Brother-in-Law to the Paz family and treasured "tito" to many nieces and nephews. In recent years companion to Dorothea Wilson. He will also be missed by family in France.
We wish to thank Amy and the thoughtful staff at Palisade Gardens. Special thanks to Jane Spencer NP and Dr. Jessica Wilson and her amazing GAIN team at Port Hope CHC.
Graveside service will be held at a later date. If desired, memorial contributions may be made by cheque to the Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation. www.allisonfuneralhome.com
