Many fine memories with Gord over the years. A fellow Hydro
worker at many generating locations. A good supervisor, trusted by all.
A curling devotee, Gord travelled to many Brier’s with Runions. Lots of tales.
Leaves many people with happy memories. Good by Gord.

Gordon, along with John Roy, were some of the first people Sid and I met at our first Brier in 2001. We went to the Ottawa Brier because if we didn't like it we could drive home. We stayed. Gord was one of those who made the trip worthwhile with his sense of humour and story telling. There was no room for anything but fun when he was around and we enjoyed him so much we started going over to Port Hope to visit when chance allowed. The news of his passing made us both very sad. Your dad made us feel welcome, both at a table in the Brier Patch and in his and your mom's home. His curling friends will miss him. We are so sorry for your loss.

GORD BOWMAN
A TRUE GENTLEMAN FOR SURE
I always enjoyed having a couple beers with Gord and sharing in good conversation about many things.
It never failed to include sports and always curling (even in the summer!).
We shared a lot of laughs together especially at Friday evening dinners at the Legion.
I will always be able to picture him walking up Toronto road and waving that big old walking stick at me when I drove by.
Condolences and pleasant thoughts for the Bowman family.

We are so saddened to hear about Gordie’s passing. I remember well in the early days when Pete and I were fishing tournaments together. Pete was still living at home and our weekends were spent at Gordie and Rita’s house. On tournament weekends, Gordie would be waiting in the driveway with a cold beer to see how our day went. He loved to hear our fishing stories. Whether we did well or not, Gordie would always throw a couple of t-bone steaks on the grill and have us laughing in no time. I always looked up to Gordie like a father. I have many fond memories of Gordie and I will miss him. Mike Burriss & family

Buddy, you keep bringing a tear to my eyes with every story and I love them all. He too thought so much of you. Every time I'd tell him a Petey and Mikey story, or told him you were coming up for a visit, his face had a smile. I think he lived vicariously through our fishing stories.
Thanks for the kind words, I know you two had a very special bond. Cheers to Gordie!!!

So sorry to hear of your dad's passing. His loss is certainly one to be felt deeply and by many. But, in my view, Gordy's life is indicative of one lived well. I will always remember him for the many stories he told of his youthful antics and for the elegantly humorous manner in which he told them. Rest in Peace, Gord Bowman. You will be missed. We send our sincere condolences to the Bowman family. Chester says he will always remember the good times shared and the stories told around the campfire by Gordie, Churchill and Ralph at various cottages (camps!) and lakes. The spring and fall "Hunting and Fishing" trips at our cottage were great fun but he says it was almost as much fun working with Gordie! They worked together at Ontario Hydro ( Wesleyville, Darlington and Lennox plants).
He was a great guy and we will miss him.
With love and sympathy, Chester and Diane Froncz

Here are a couple of recent pictures of Dad. He was still gardening but on a smaller scale with a potted plant on his balcony this summer.
The second pic was when it warmed up in November and we took advantage of an outdoor visit.
Of course, we were enjoying a beer together on both occasions!

The Lance family would like to extend are deepest sympathies and condolences on hearing of Gordy passing. As a young child I remember Gordy being a playful vociferous individual. I still remember Rita saying "Gordy stop teasing and getting those kids going" and he would have a large grin from ear to ear. Gordy actually gave my sister Marlene the nickname "minnie" that stuck for many years to follow. Gordy was my god parent for my baptism and worked many years with my father Andy Lance at Ontario Hydro. The Bowman and Lance children should all remember the premature destruction of a neighbour's plastic fence due to accurate stone projectiles. All parents were upset because $135 back in the 70's was alot of money but I still remember Gordy making us all laugh over the whole situation. Are prayers and thought are with you all during this time. The Lance Family

Hello Bowman's. We are sad to share your news, especially in these times. Gordie led such a great life and always had so many interesting stories to share around the bonfires in the backyard in Quyon. We always thought he was the cool uncle. He was a great family man and you have been such a good support to him over these last few years. We will all miss him and are thinking of you.

Dear Family: We are so sorry to hear of Gordie's passing. We all had so much fun when your family lived in Napanee and we shared the Curling Club. Dennis and I shared Mary Hartman with a lot of laughs and Mary with the chuckles bonspielling when she was VERY young and of course Peter is still often in our living room via satelite. We especially enjoyed meeting Gord at Rama watching the Curling and sharing memories. Our thoughts are with you all. Love Neil and Sally
