Dear Doug, Greg, Kevin and families:
It is with much saddness that we acknowledge the loss of the very special friend that Joan was to us. We met some 52 years ago when we became next door neighbours and could never have guessed what wonderful neighbors and friends she and her family would become. We, too, remember the parties, house projects, drinks in the backyard on hot days (ice in the wine). We remember the many times Joan assisted us with good deeds when most needed. We remember visiting at their camp site and our toddlers redecorating their camper when we thought they were sleeping. There is so much we will miss but so happy we have these great memories. Joan would light up a room every time she entered. She brought much joy to all she met. I know Doug and the boys will feel the emptiness but they have such rich memories to sustain them. Blessings to you all.

Marion and I send our deepest regrets to you and your family for your sad loss. The lovely picture of Joan says it nicely. She was always so bright, cheerful and welcoming - especially when we walked past the house and she was outside gardening. Will we ever forget those happy times we had when we formed the "Silver Stream Cross-country Ski group"? We never developed much in the way of skiing skills but we had good times and always laughed at those jokes of yours! We send our deepest sympathy and wish you well.

Joan will always be remembered as the stunning lady who had a beautiful sense of fashion and always kept her nails and hair like a magazine model. I was her nail technician for many years and we have made a bond that I will cherish forever. I loved seeing her smile when she walked into my spa and I soon introduced her to my business partner who became her hair stylist. We had many laughs with our dear Joan.
Blessings to Doug and his family at this time. She will be deeply missed by everyone she met.
