Obituary of Lorraine Elizabeth Lowes

Lowes, Lorraine (White) passed away in the early hours of Wednesday, February 9^th at Streamway Villa, Cobourg with her husband, Peter and children Lori and Ted by her side.

She married the love her life, Peter Lowes and this city girl moved to Port Hope. Their family of two would soon grow when daughter Lori, and son Ted came along. As a mother, she was generous, loving and kind. They will all miss her greatly.

 Lorraine was born to Leon and Emily White. With her older brother Robert, she grew up in Toronto. Lorraine continued her education and earned her bachelor’s degree in Education. She began her career as a teacher where she taught math and physical education. She eventually moved on to teaching adults in Port Hope at the Centre for Individual Studies. Lorraine loved to coach; from Archery to Volleyball and many sports in between, she coached and played them all.

For many years, Lorraine was involved in Guiding. As a company leader, She helped shaped many young minds and enjoyed her time working with the girls and other leaders during their many camps and outings.

She will also be missed by her nephew George White (Laurie), and nieces, Ellen Vernon (Late Dan) and Bessie Villeneuve (Kevin). A memorial service in memory of Lorraine will be held on Saturday April 9, 2022 at 2 p.m. with visitation one hour prior, at Allison Funeral Home, 103 Mill Street North, Port Hope. www.allisonfuneralhome.com
