John was such a great buddy to my dad Gordie and he certainly went above and beyond what a normal bud would do. Took care of him when care was needed etc. there’s not a lot of people that will do that. Their fishing, golf, and hunting excursions were trips that stories are made of… Trust me, I was on a few, there’s some stories and lots of BS!
He was also a great friend to our entire family. Even my two sons called him “grandpa three”… there was no four or beyond.
Condolences to Judy and the entire family as you all know, we loved that dude!

Our heartfelt condolences to Judy and family. John will be missed by so many people. He was one in a million with his kindness and history of volunteering whether it be the legion or childrens golf school or helping neighbours and friends. We enjoyed his competitiveness whether on the pool table, on the golf course, the dart league, the horseshoe pit and the curling rink. He was the ultimate sportsman and one never minded losing to John because of that wonderful smile on his face.

To John and family; John has left his stamp on this world at the top of a several hundred foot high monument for all to see as they drive past on the 401. At the capping off celebrations of such concrete structures it was almost a religious exercise to embed watches, personal items and coins etc. into the concrete. This was done only by the very few men at the "top "of that chimney at Wesleyville. Harold Mills

To Judy & Family, very sorry to hear of John’s passing !
Had some good “Hye- de-ho-good Neighbor “ chat’s while visiting my Mom . I recall the year of patio work on both yards at the same time. We had daily conversations about each other’s progress,& joked about who would finish first. He will be missed.
“Adios -good-neighbour “

My condolences to Judy and the family. John was a wonderful person and a good friend. I will miss all the needling he used to give me at the golf course and the legion. I always made sure to return the favour to him. John always made himself available over the years to help me with the junior golf camps at the Port Hope golf club. He was really in his element around the kids. He took the teaching very seriously and always helped each child he was around. John was a gentleman on and off the golf course. He worked tirelessly at the Branch 30 legion and would always greet you with that infectious smile. He will be truly missed by many and I'm honored to have had him as a friend.
