Obituary of Julianne Marie Rondeau

Julianne Marie (Laframboise) Rondeau

Passing away peacefully at Northumberland Hills Hospital Palliative Care Unit with her daughters by her side, Julianne Marie (Laframboise) Rondeau left this earth to be with her heavenly family on 6th June 2022.

Born in Ottawa, Ontario, Julianne was the youngest of five children. Predeceased by her husband Marcel Rondeau (1938-2020), son Mark (1964-1988) (Connie Pearson), sister Theresa (1931-2021) (late Peter Leclaire), brother Roger Laframboise (1941-1976) (Marie Hupé) and parents Joseph and Julianna (Coulas) Laframboise. Loving grandmother to Bryan, Brittany, and James Rotor and Tatjana and Michael Vuk. Survived by her daughters Catherine (Garth Rotor) and Theresa (Matt Vuk), and brothers Gerald and Joseph Laframboise.

Julianne and her husband Marcel were the retired owners and operators of Rondeau's Upholstery Ltd. on Ridout St. (now Bryson-Ghor optometrist) in Port Hope, which property they purchased, built upon, and operated out of for many years. Julianne was a resident of Hope Township (Municipality of Port Hope) and parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church. She leaves many memories of happy times with treasured friends from Port Hope Ladies League Golf, Business and Professional Women's Club, Tuesday afternoon Ladies Bowling, Ganaraska Valley Probus Club, and the Catholic Women's League. She had a special place in her heart for the Ladies of the Canton Women's League (Canton United Church) who were so very supportive, welcoming, and inclusive to her as a part of their Hope Township community.

Julianne's latest battle with cancer brought her to other Cancer Warriors in the Stage 4 Metastatic Cancer Support Group at Hearth Place in Oshawa where she witnessed, shared, and earned the love, respect and ongoing support of many beautiful women and men who were fighting an emotional, painful, and ongoing endless battle with cancer. Truly an invaluable "Mets Group." She loved, respected, and admired all of them immensely. Julianne and her daughters would like to acknowledge and thank her health care team, Dr.'s Paul Hazell (general practitioner, retired), Lucie Blouin (oncologist), Behzad Banihashemi (radiation oncologist), Mukesh Bhargava (cardiologist), and Andrew Stratford, Kaes Al-Ali and Jacob Hassan (surgeons). A very special recognition and heartfelt thanks goes to Dr. Francesco Mulé (palliative care). Their compassion and understanding helped Julianne navigate the ups and downs of her journey. Finally, we must thank the caring staff and chemo nurses of Lakeridge Hospital and Northumberland Hills Hospital including the front-line nurses within the St. Elizabeth's Community Care program. It truly takes a village and for this and the family is truly grateful.

Family and friends will be received at the Allison Funeral Home, 103 Mill Street North, Port Hope on Thursday, June 16th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Church of Our Lady of Mercy, 155 Walton Street, Port Hope, on Friday, June 17th at 11:00 a.m. with interment at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery. A Celebration of Life for Julianne and Marcel Rondeau will follow at the Cobourg Columbus Hall, 232 Spencer St. E., Cobourg, ON K9A 1C5. https://www.cobourgccc.com It is recommended that those attending the events would kindly wear masks.
