Wood, Don 
Passed away at Northumberland Hills Hospital, Cobourg, on Saturday, July 30, 2022. Don was married to the love of his life Josie for 56 years. Together they travelled to many places around the world. Don was a member at Port Hope Golf Club where he would walk the course daily. Poppa made with his loving hands a bed for each of his grandchildren with each piece of wood turned by hand. Ruth Clarke Center provided art classes that he attended weekly. Much pleasure was enjoyed with activities at Empire Crossing which included trivia, Tutti Frutti and many more social activities. Sunday dinner’s were always a special time spent with family with lots of laughs and wine. Father of Stephanie (Jamey Moore), Lorraine (Tom Foster) and the late Haydn Wood. Adored by his grandchildren Jaclyn (James Robertson) and Vanessa (Josh Moore), Brittany (Ryan Toms), Jillian (Chad Dunlop) and Jordan Foster (Maggie Large). Great-grandfather to Bodhi, Nash, Max, Violet and Briggs. Friends will be received at Allison Funeral Home, 103 Mill Street North, Port Hope, Wednesday, August 3rd from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Graveside Interment Service at Groveside Cemetery, Whitby on Thursday, August 4th at 10 am. Special thank you to the staff at Northumberland Hills Hospital, the palliative care unit and Ward 2A. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Empire Crossing for the love, compassion and care for the last three years he’s lived there.
