My sincere sympathies to you all. I had the privilege of caring for Gordon for a six years at Roseglen Village in Port Hope. I served as the Director of Care. When I visited Gordon with Dr. Durante they would salute each other and talk about Gordon’s service in the Navy. Gordon was a remarkable man with a smile whenever we met. He spoke about your Family lovingly. It was an honour to care for Gord. May he rest in Eternal peace!

Dear Murray and Debbie and loved ones. My sympathy to you on the death of your Dad. He was a true gentleman and a friendly presence whenever and wherever you met him. I met Mr. Woods/Gord during my teens when I worked at Davidson Rubber during a summer shut down/holiday. It was one of my first jobs.He was my foreman/boss. I could tell he was serious about his role but also cared about the employees and was respected. He did offer me a full time job which I declined - graciously hopefully. I have never forgotten him and my experience working there; surprised he has remembered me each time I've seen him since. Always friendly with a smile and interest to how you are doing - that's Gord. One in a million. Thank you Mr. Woods for your service to our country and for being the role model to many. He has gone to begin a new journey leaving precious memories. Sincerely, Sandra Bell-Buttars

I worked with Gord at what once was Davidson Rubber. Gord was my supervisor and friend. I looked up to Gord like a favourite Grandpa and did my best for him. Gord supported me in taking on new jobs..I knew he had my back. I was at his retirement party and was sad to see him leave. I would run into him and Muriel around town and he always remembered me and we would chat for a few minutes. I'm glad he got to enjoy most of his many years of retirement..he deserved it. Rest in Peace Gord. Dawn Reid (nee Bailey)

Gord was a true gentlemen, I had several chats with him at Rose Glen Village, he was always upbeat and satisfied where he was in life. I was surprised over the years, how he always recognized me and we would easily have a conversation together. RIP Gord

Raising our family for many years on Scriven Blvd, Gord had been neighbour and friend. More importantly, Gord had been like a dad and grandpa to us. Gord had the best sense of humour and at 99 yrs, had a incredible memory!! Gord will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers goes out to the whole Woods family. ox

I have been working at Roseglen for the past 2 years in the hair salon and every day I was there Gord would walk by with a hello or good morning. When he would come in the get his “bean” as he would say for a tidy up he would tell me stories about the war. I always loved when he came in. Gord will be missed dearly

Deepest condolences to you all. Our encounters with Gord were brief, but oh so memorable.
