I knew Bruce from several files we were on opposite sides of. I also got to know him better when we met again at the Walkerton Inquiry. He took his work seriously and did it well. He was always a gentleman, but he never took himself too seriously. A fine man.

I am saddened to hear the news of Bruce’s illness and death. I knew Bruce from WLU and Queens and it was when we were at Queens, celebrating something that I can’t remember, Bruce showed his fun and mischievous side. After we all drank sparkling wine from my few champagne flutes, Bruce said some Russian word and tossed the flute into my fireplace. For a few seconds we were all stunned & then the explosion of laughter. I loved that silly and spontaneous side of Bruce. I know your family misses him already. My deepest condolences .

I knew Bruce at Laurier and Queens where he was both super intense and amazingly fun and humourous. He loved to laugh. We simply called him MCMEEKIN!!
We reconnected briefly during COVID for a Laurier reunion call. It was great to hear from him and hear about his plans for retirement. So sorry for your loss. He was a great guy. MCMEEKIN will be missed.

I was so sorry to hear of Bruce's passing. I played golf regularly with Bruce at Oshawa Golf Club, and was looking forward to another season starting shortly. While the golf was not very good, the conversations were always interesting. It seems we shared similar political views. He spoke fondly of you Allison. I believe you have just retired . This news is shocking. My condolences.

My deepest condolences to Allison, Ceilidh and Jack on the passing of Bruce. I was shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. He was a valued friend and partner during our days working together at the Ministry of the Environment during his articling days and as an associate and then partner at Miller Thomson when he came to join the environmental law group with Rod McLeod and John Tidball. We spent months together working in Walkerton during the time of the Drinking Water Contamination Inquiry. We had many good times playing golf during our years at Miller Thomson with special note of the September weekends in Southampton at the McLeod Golf Classic. You passed way too early and will be missed by all who knew you.

Allison, Ceilidh, Jack and family;
I am so very shocked to have read the sad news about Bruce in today's paper.
It was always such a pleasure to see Bruce out walking with 'our' two boys; first Wilby then Archie. We will always be glad to have met your family after Ceilidh's initial inquiry about a pup all those years ago, and we were so touched when Archie (and his hippo!) went to your very loving family. We could not have hoped for more.
Braden, Tristan, Phil and I wish to extend our deepest condolences to you. Bruce will be missed.

Dear Allison, Ceilidh, Jack and Rob
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this difficult time. Bruce was a special friend to many of us. As self-appointed organizer of our annual Richmond Gardens invitational Golf Tournament he was always a gracious host taking on all the coordination with never a complaint. I will always remember Bruce as a great listener, incredible memory, and encyclopedic knowledge on many subjects, particularity the second world war. We will miss Bruce on the fairways and on the greens, but especially during the post-game conversation over dinner and beer.
I share this grade 4 picture from Silvercreek Public School which Bruce shared with me a few months ago. Fond memories.

Dear Allison, Ceilidh and Jack:
I am shocked and saddened at how quickly Bruce passed. I have so many fond memories of times we all spent together - from early days of law school, which unimaginably are 40 years ago - through to recent years of practice. Some of my favourites are those days at Lawrencetown Beach where Bruce conquered the sometimes frosty Atlantic surf. Pretty impressive for a kid from Ontario! Bruce was endlessly kind, funny, and passionate about so many things. He leaves a great legacy but I know I am not alone in wishing he didn't leave it so soon. Please take care of yourselves and each other in the days ahead.

Among Bruce's many professional accomplishments and achievements, it should be noted, he was also the official "firecracker ignitor" at the annual Lincoln Ave, Victoria Day celebrations. We have such fond memories of Bruce, Allison, Ceilidh, and Jack. Bruce was a wonderful golfing companion. I enjoyed taking history with him, and hearing about the WWII battlefields he had visited and explored. He was friendly, kind, and generous. He will not be forgotten. We send our love to Allison and the kids. May Bruce Rest in Eternal Peace.
