Obituary of Janet Marie McGillis

McGillis, Janet Marie October 1, 1928 ? May 24, 2005. Passed away peacefully in Northumberland Hills Hospital, Cobourg on Tuesday May 24, 2005. Will be deeply missed by her three brothers Joe (Maureen) of Edmonton, Peter (Patricia) of Woodstock and Allan (Curene) of Port Hope. Also by her sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, cousins and a multitude of close friends. Janet?s enthusiasm, strength of character and spirit of adventure endeared her to all. She was predeceased by he parents, Donald and Marie McGillis of Port Hope. Special thanks to volunteer drivers, Dr. Simon and the nursing staff on 2A. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the Allison Funeral Home, 103 Mill Street North, Port Hope, Thursday 7-9 pm with parish prayers and 8 pm. Funeral Mass Friday 11 am in the chapel at Trenton Air Force Base. Interment, Saturday 10 am at St. Mary?s Cemetery, Port Hope. Thursday 7-9 pm with parish prayers at 8 pm. Allison Funeral Home Port Hope ON DIRECTIONS: FROM HWY 401 Exit at County Rd. 28, Ontario St. (exit 464). Follow Ontario St. south into Port Hope. The funeral home is located at the juncture of Ontario St., Young St. and Mill St. N. on the east (left) side of Mill St. N. The parking lot (behind the building) can be accessed either from Young St. or Mill St. N.

Interment

St. Mary's Cemetery Port Hope ON DIRECTIONS: FROM HWY 401 Exit at County Rd. 2, Toronto Rd. (exit 461). Follow Toronto Rd. south into Port Hope. The cemetery is located just south of Jocelyn St./Marsh Rd. on the west (right) side of the street.
