Irvin's Mother, Dr. Rose Besior (not sure of the spelling), was a holocaust survivor. She suffered under brutal Nazi conditions - yet somehow survived and made it to Canada, where she opened a medical practice (in a beautiful Toronto Victorian house on Bathurst St., south of Harbord) and gave birth to her most cherished son, Irvin. She also struggled and endured living with Irvin's father, Henry, a difficult man (also a holocaust survivor). I remember Rose was completely devoted to Irvin and was so proud of him. I believe that her love and tenacity in bringing Irvin into the world and raising him with every ounce of her being is a testament to her resilience and strength - which flowed into Irvin. Against many odds, Irvin was born - and became an accomplished and successful man, continuing the legacy of his Mother. May G-d bless Rose and Irvin - and may they rest in peace.

Irvin was a one of kind person.... I knew Irvin because he and my wife Marjorie Keymer were once on the OMA and became good friends..... until we moved south. Even earlier this year we were talking to friends about this guy in Toronto who was hilarious to be around. (Irvin) The picture added here is one I took in Quebec coming our of an old-town store and loaded down with wine.. I have many stories.... I will mention one here. We were coming out of the O'Keefe Center, after seeing some some performance and crossing the street right in front of the center, when Irvin went into a dance and song routine. He always commented on how tall I am (6'4") and he wasn't. His performance, in front of Marjorie, Carol, myself and many many others, was the complete Munchkin song and dance that was in the movie "The Wizard of Oz" he knew all the words and dance steps as he circled & circled me crossing the street. Unforgettable.
Condolences to Carol and his wonderful family. He was a joy to know. PS Sorry for being 4 years late but news moves slow down here in Virginia.

On behalf of the Austrian Trade Commission, let me convey our sincere condolences. I only remember Irvin from a couple of occasions at our Austrian wine tastings, but I really enjoyed meeting this humble, intelligent man with an extensive knowledge of wine and a great sense of humor. May he rest in peace and you find solace in all your good memories. I belive that our souls live forever and we meet again.
