To the Weaver family, my deepest condolences for your loss. My great grandparents (Ron & Merle Wakely) had deep respect for Charlie and Liz. I have fond memories of both through their support of the Liberal party. I will never forget Charlie's adamant support of my youth political ventures, including donating to support our youth attendance at the Liberal National Party Convention - that led me to a serious career in politics and government. Thanks for all the support during my days in Port Hope. A wonderful man, may he rest in peace. -Dalton Wakely

Charlie was always there for friends & family. He was giving & thoughtful; whether advice on a car problem, fixing a tractor or lathing wood into useful & sometimes hilarious articles.
I remember him walking 4 miles a day to work & back, rain or shine; oatmeal porridge every morning; and his very dry sense of humour. (which he never lost). He was a great communicator and I miss our chats.
He will be missed greatly and remembered often.
Condolences & Love to Elizabeth, Janis, Marilyn & their extended families.

The world has lost a true gentleman, but heaven gained an angel. Our father spoke very kindly of his days working with Charlie at MTO. In later years, whenever we saw Charlie and Elizabeth, his gentle, caring side always shone through.

My sincere condolences to Elizabeth & family.
Charlie was one of the "great generation", in my opinion, who stepped forward to keep our world safe from oppression but no matter the horrors he saw during the WWII he remained a gentleman.

So sorry to hear of Charlie's passing. Charlie and Elizabeth were two of the finest people I have had the priveledge to know and be a neighbour to growing up on Young Street with one house between us. As a teenager I babysat Janice and Marilyn and remember what a loving family they were. They made me feel so welcome. I met Elizabeth's sister Lorraine and went to visit with them on several occasions.
I will never forget Charlie and Elizabeth Weaver and their beautiful family.
