Diane and I hung out as 'kids becoming teenagers' in Port Hope. I remember her as a trustworthy, hardy and boisterous friend. We had a lot of fun together.

Today,I could not believe what I read.
Last week ,I had just looked at jeans from high school thru the heed.
Remembering ,Diane walking to school with the bell bottom Jean's and the Canadian flag in the middle.
I use to call her the bell bottom queen as the jeans were a hit far ,wide and biddle.
Remembering chats to high school .
Laughing like a fool.
Always, remembered, today and tommorrows.

Diane and I met in grade 8. We shared many memories throughout the years. Bought our first pack of cigarettes from “Hanks”. We crocheted Afghans on the GO train travelling to our Toronto jobs. Baby afternoon get togethers. Shared many girl get togethers including the Blue Jays games, concerts, fun shows and many friend parties on centennial drive. So happy to have seen her in October on our boat cruise. Always ready to have fun and she had the best laugh. We would meet up every few years and it was like no time had passed. Diane fiercely loved her boys and she worked hard to give them a good upbringing. I am so happy to have shared some of her life. She was one of a kind.
My condolences to all her family. Bonnie Palmer and family

Diane was a lifelong friend, best friend in high school and roommate when we worked in Toronto.
She was an incredible woman, as a Mom she always amazed me on how she was able to raise 3 rather ‘rambunctious’ boys, running them to hockey, keeping them in line and watching them grow into well rounded men. In addition to raising the boys she went back to school, graduated and landed a job with the school board which was a great accomplishment and something I hope she was proud of. I do know that she was one proud mother and grandmother, whenever she talked about the boys or her grandchildren you could hear the love in her voice.
In the last few years Diane and I didn’t get to see each other as often, but when we did, we just picked up from where we left off. She was a great sounding board and gave her honest opinion openly which was normally the best advice and she never held back.
I know Diane was looking forward to her transplant and new beginnings and I am so so sorry she will not have that opportunity.
BooBoo, May you Rest In Peace, I will miss you and always remember you with love. Thank you for the best memories and being a part of my life.
Mary, Debbie, Donna, Jackie, Greg, Josh, Justin, Jordon and your families, may we offer our deepest, heartfelt condolences for your loss. She really was, one of kind!!!

Its hard to say goodbye I wish we had more time. Especially this time when we cannot hug those we love when we know how much they hurt. I reminisce of my time with you. I was the daughter you never had. You took me for my 1st ear piercing and handed down jewlery. You showed me how strong we need to be sometimes when all you want to do is cry. Your jokes and smile would make my day so much brighter. I looked forward to see what shenanagans you adults would get into at parties on King st. Thank you for peanut butter balls and for not whooping me when Justin and I ate all your delicious mushroom shaped buns that were ment for Thanksgiving dinner later. I've seen how accurate you could whip a slipper! I can hear you telling me to get my shit together. You raised us well as it takes a village. Who are we going to look for now if we ever get to another concert?
Always in my heart

To Diane’s Family-
We are so sorry to hear about Diane’s passing. Such a good person who loved her family dearly. We know Diane was a “Mom” to many people. Anyone who needed a hand, Diane was always there to feed them, let them stay until they were able to get on their feet or maybe they were welcomed into her home to stay permanently as a member of her family.
I’ve known Diane since the Nisbett family lived on Ward St. & then we met up again when we went to PHHS together many years ago.
Gary & his family lived next door to the Nisbett family for many years.
We both knew Mr & Mrs Nisbett & their children. We also got to know Diane’s son, Jordan very well.
Please know we are thinking of each of you at this sad time. May your memories of happier times bring you much peace in the
coming days.

My heart is heavy having to say good bye to my friend, my sister, the much loved Aunt to our children. Rachel commented that she was much more than an Aunt more like a second mom. We are sorry that Diane was taken from us before we were ready to let her go.
The fun we had the polish play grounds, Sunday fun days, concerts and live productions in the city, Blue Jay games, road trips ... the fun was ongoing.
Van Dorp Strawberries are left with a big hole. Diane was a big part of our Strawberry farm almost from the beginning. Even when her COPD started to slow her down she always came to the patch. The customers looked forward to seeing her and Joe, well maybe Joe more! She will be missed there.
I also know she loved to get to the cottage on Weslemkoon Lake as soon as she could after the Strawberry season. This year was an especially good year as the family got to spend a lot of time together there.
I know she loved the cookie making sessions with the kids, a memory for them to cherish. Sure hope they have learned how to make those peanut butter balls.
Joshua, Justin and Jordan and families Know that Bill and I will be there for you when and for whatever you need, as your mom was for us and our children.
Dont kid yourself your mom will be raining down on our parades if she doesnt like what is happening.
Gone to soon but will never be forgotten.
Love you Mary Jean and Bill

Gone too soon. Coffee on cottage 3 porch, Aunt Diane always had a full pot brewing (when we still perked coffee), crosswords on the dock, pina coladas!!!! Seeing her red lights on in the cottage when she was up reading, snoring so loud through a movie we couldn’t hear it! Tough on the outside, but soft on the inside, bringing me a singing reindeer on a Christmas I was so sick I lied on the couch at Nanny and Poppy’s. A GREAT Aunt that made her niece’s day with a special Elsa costume. Gone, but not forgotten. Love you Aunt Diane.
