My buddy & cousin Vern, best friend the only two Battersbys left in our families. Will miss the many great times we had in his old model A car & my 2004 mustang convertible, touring around town still acting like two young guys from the past.May the good lord bless you in heaven with peace no more suffering. Sure going to miss you buddy.

My condolences to all the family.
I have fond memories of Vern& Carolyn as far as the 1960s.We would get together on the weekends for bowling food and fun.
Just lots of teasing, joking laughter.
Inn the past few years we got together, and most recently when he got his vintage car. We would drive around the town and honk the horn.He loved that car...
He was a very sensitive, caring and lovely man.
Fondly,
Iris Trotter.

Uncle Vern will be greatly missed, a selfless and kind soul. He made my wedding day driving us to the ceremony in his cherished old car out of the goodness of his heart. Sending all of our love, rest in peace Uncle Vern.

I'm so sorry to hear of Vern's passing, he was warm, loving and genuine and brought me and my mother a lot of joy when we would go visit him. Seeing the joy in his face as he drove his old car around or just sitting listening to his stories he made me feel lucky just to know him. He was a bright spot in the world and I know he'll be sorely missed by everyone who knew him. Rest in peace Vern, you fought so hard and I'm just so grateful to have known you.

So many happy memories with Uncle Vern, he always made us laugh with his stories and was there for me throughout my lifetime. So sad with his passing but I believe he has been reunited with Auntie Carol who was his true love and soulmate. He had a good life surrounded by his loving family who meant the world to him. He will forever have a special place in my heart. Love Phil, Terri and families

My visits to Cobourg and Port Hope will never be the same, he was top of the list for us to visit. He always made me laugh and had a kind, gentle smile that was infectious. Brittany and I were lucky enough to ride in his wonderful old car, and will always remember the day we brought my sister in law along and ended up in Grafton. Rest in peace my dear friend and thank you for just being there.
