Dear Barb, such sad and sudden bad news. Marion and I both send our regrets and sympathy to you. Robert was a pleasant friend - in Probus, of course, but more so in some of our more informal and relaxed moments. I regret that he was unable to teach us how to play euchre but he made up for it at men’s lunch when he tried so hard - with that large significant voice - to have us discuss something important. (He never succeeded). His friendly manner was infectious and his leadership style was admired by all of us. A strong remembrance for us early one morning was our walk in the park in Cobourg and who we do we meet sitting passively on a park bench, carefully reading the Globe and Mail, but Robert. We had a pleasant morning chat that day on topical political events - so like him. He liked to make a big mark - like that very red Cadillac. We will carry his memory for a long time and he will be missed. Marion and Doug
