Kathy, Ryan, Todd, Eden,
We cannot begin to understand the grief you are going through. Barry was a truly good human being, kind, friendly, helpful, religious, great neighbour, great dad, poppa. I still remember him being so easy to talk to when I landed next door in a bad situation, couldn't ask for a better neighbour! You all are in our thoughts, please reach out if there is anything we can do. The world is a little less special with the loss of Barry.

My sincere condolences to all of Barry’s family. I only knew Barry. I considered him a dear friend over the last four years as he drove me to and from the airport from Cobourg. He loved his family magnificently. I know because that is how I felt about my husband. He always made me laugh and in our many conversations I realized how much he helped so many. I will miss this very special man.

I hadn't seen Barry since I was a kid. Then, a few years ago he walked up to me at a festival "I think we're related. You're one of Bonnie's kids right?" He invited my mom sister and I over to play horseshoes. Introduced kids and grandkids. His arms wide open. Warm and welcoming. We can all learn a thing or two about kindness from Barry. We'll miss him.

It is not very often you meet someone like Barry after an absence of 40+ years but that happened for us when I saw his name on Messenger and took the chance to see if it was the same individual. We chatted much on messenger and decided to have a coffee to catch up. An opportunity that will have to wait. Barry's last comment to me "I have to get the grandkids. Talk to you later my good friend." Rest in the Peace my good friend

Kathy our deepest condolences to you and your family. We have such great memories of Barry when he was the Customs Officer in Cobourg who was always helpful and knowledgeable to offer assistance. His visits to our shop for advice to help the “young drivers” in the family or just to stop in to say hi and see how we were getting along and catch up on local news. Barry is the definition of a true friend, loving son, husband, father and grandfather. He will be missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
Today may your heart flex to the grief you have, may your body get all the support you need, may your soul feel the loving and eternal tethering you share from this world to his.

Kathy, Ryan, Todd and Eden,
My sincerest condolences to you all. The world was and is a better place because Barry was a part of it and will continue to be part of it through his family. I first met Barry in my early teens. Barry was one part of an amazing team (the other part being Kathy). This team always treated everyone with dignity and respect, no matter the situation. Barry was admired and respected by all who knew him, a true role model for anyone to look up too. The most important thing to Barry was his family. R.I.P Barry

Wow, I am still in shock so I can only imagine how all of you are feeling. If it wasn’t for the many warm heartfelt greetings from Barry at St. John’s, I am not sure if I would of attended all of these years. He just had such a way about him that he always felt I was important in the church family.
Rest In Peace, Barry. Your family is surrounded by such love.

Kathy, Todd and the Mason family,
So sorry to hear this news. I remember meeting Barry & Kathy when they were in charge of the Young Peoples group at St. John's Church back in my teens. I thought it was so cool that they both treated us kids as adults. Even after all these years Barry would always greet me on the street with a smile and often stop for a chat. A great man gone far too soon! Take solace in knowing he made an impact on all those who were lucky enough to know him. Will be thinking of you all.
