Our deepest condolences to all of Bob’s family. We attended the outdoor service yesterday and despite the cold temperature, our hearts were warmed by the lovely tribute to his life. The music selections and poems had Bob’s voice resonating throughout. We felt his presence. Sharing memories of Bob brought me back to one of the first times he came to our cottage with Lori, Kim and Glenn. Bob’s love of the outdoors and his appreciation of nature’s little creatures made a lasting impression on us, especially when he shared this short YouTube video that he created early one morning on the deck: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIbKXhzV_tY
RIP Bob

Bob.....I don't even know where or how to begin. Not because I have nothing to say, but because I really just can't believe that you're gone and not in our lives anymore. I just saw you a week ago. You, Lori and I shared New Year's Eve together. I said goodbye to you on January 1. You were not well, but we never expected only two short days later you would be gone. You were a great addition to the family for all these years. You were always a calm, friendly presence in our lives. Kind and generous. With your jovial laugh, and deep voice, we knew you were in the room. You had many loves in your life.....golf, camping, fishing, sports, your fur babies but most importantly, your family. Whether hearing you speak about Rachael, Kristy or Brad, or seeing you first hand do so much for your step-children Carly and Amanda, your heart was huge. Your love for your grandchildren Jacob and Nathan, Eli and Sage was beautiful to see as was your love for Lori. You were a great brother-in-law and I also want to thank you for messaging back and forth with Glenn these past few months to check in with him as he did with you. He loved you too. We know you and Glenn will be looking out for us (between rounds), but we wish desperately that you were both still looking out for us in person. Our hearts are broken. We will move forward....because life tells us that is what we must do.....but boy, is it going to be hard. Love you. Kim xoxo

Dad, there’s so much I could say. But at the very least thank you for every laugh and experience you shared with us. Our hearts are broken, and we’re going to miss you unimaginably.

Bob was always smiling and friendly as a neighbour, and very quick to laugh. We enjoyed many an over the back fence conversation when he became a regular dog walker during COVID. He will be very much missed by his neighbours here on Greenaway.

Thank you for being a great husband, to Lori, a great father to Brad, Rachael, and Kristy, a great extended father to Carly and Amanda, and a wonderful and caring grandfather to Jacob, thank you for being an awesome 'Poppa Bob' to Nathan, Eli, and Sage. Most of all, to me, thank you for being a best friend, another big brother (with the dearly departed Glenn Broadley), and the best golf partner that one could and would ever want. Our times on the golf course, were our special and our most unforgettable moments together. The number of laughs we shared (especially at Bill's 'Quarry Lakes' in Bowmanville, and at your home course at Port Hope Golf and Country) will never be forgotten. You were one of a kind 'Safety Bob'. May you soar with the Eagles (while making a few, I hope.) Rest in Peace Bob Thompson. We ALL miss you here on Planet Earth. Your Brother, Mark. xoxo

I had the pleasure of knowing Sue and Bob for many years. Now both gone, my heart is very heavy for his 3 kids, Rachael, Brad and Kristy. Bob always made me laugh with soft demeanour and Sue I had the pleasure of working with for many many years. Keep all those special memories close your hearts, knowing both your Mom and Dad are always watching over you and they loved you with all of their hearts.
I am sorry for Bob’s extended family, I never had the pleasure of meeting any of you, but I want to say I am sorry for your loss, and may you find peace in those special memories you all shared together.
R.I.P. Bob I am sure all the angels are “safe” in heaven.
God Bless you all
Nancy and Chris Tomlinson

I worked with Bob in the Oshawa office for many years. I use to call him "safety Bob". I am saddened to hear of his passing. He was very lively and energetic and would always take time to share a story or two. My condolences to his family. He will be missed.

Bob was a wonderful friend of many years. He was a wonderful storyteller, but more importantly, a great listener. His knowledge was limitless, and always impressive. He and Lori made the greatest couple, and boy, they sure hosted amazing get togethers! We will miss him always, much love to Lori, and the whole family. ❤ Mark and Lisa Charland
