I was taught politics by Carla
when I attended Ryerson. When I could not complete my degree I went to ask Carla for advice. She never refused me and would always help if she could. Carla took time to listen and care. When I came back to finnish my degree Carla was always encouraging. Even after I graduated and got work, I could still call her up to share stories and events. She was a guiding force and I grieve in agony knowing I cannot see her or speak to her again. Farewell dear teacher.

Our remembrances of Carla go back over fifty years and we have treasured her friendship over those years. She was such a remarkable individual.
Her amazing insight into situations and people and her sense of perspective on life and her willingness to take bold action when she felt it was needed. She was such a loving and caring person. We will always hold her dear in our hearts.
We extend our love and condolences to her family.

Carla was a wonderful colleague and an outstanding administrator. But most of all, she was a friend who quietly helped people who she recognised as needing it. She will be sorely missed. My condolences to Renate and to Nico and Dan and their families - as well as to all whose lives were touched by this remarkable woman.
