Obituary of Gordon Watson
In Loving Memory of David “Gordon” Watson
April 12, 1970 - October 2, 2024
It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Gordon Watson at age 54yrs. in Port Hope, Ontario on October 2, 2024.
Gordon is lovingly remembered by his parents David and Janice Watson; younger brother to Lynn and Stephen MacMurray; cherished uncle to Brandon and Angela MacMurray and Devon and Joanna MacMurray; and great-uncle to Lily and Beth.
Born in Falkirk, Scotland and raised in Rouge Hill, Ontario, he attended Sir Oliver Mowat Collegiate where he excelled in all things athletic. He attended Wilfred Laurier University on a soccer scholarship and played on their varsity team. He loved sports, especially soccer, golf and football. He was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan and an avid movie lover. Known to be helpful, hard working and meticulous, he worked at a publishing company, Home Depot and also with a local property maintenance company.
Most importantly, he loved spending time with family. He was a dedicated son and best friend to his parents, a loving brother, the undisputed “fun” uncle to his nephews and adored by his great-nieces and family in Scotland. He always looked forward to his cottage golf weekends with his long-time friend group. An especially kind-hearted person, he never missed an opportunity to send a thoughtful message or gift.
He will be lovingly remembered and celebrated by family and friends at a later date.
Any donations can be made to the Northumberland Hills Hospital, Cobourg.
